If you opt-in, we will text you occasional reminders to fill out our survey and attend research study interviews. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to the short code. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at threads@uw.edu. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive approximately one to two messages per week, on average. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. As part of this study, we need to collect some contact information so we can remind you to complete surveys and attend interviews. We will store your name and other identifiable information separately from the study data. All information will be stored in encrypted form to further ensure confidentiality in the unlikely event of malicious intrusion. Access to the master list linking study ID number with participant identity will be restricted to study personnel on a need-to-know basis, via password, two-factor authentication, and encryption. Data shared with the research team will be stripped of all identifiers, and will be delivered in a secure manner. We will never share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
